Alumni Welcome Rally

Gather with fellow alumni to learn about what it means to be an AMU and APU alumnus. There will be prizes,
giveaways, and you can learn about the amazing university programs and benefits available to alumni.
Class of 2015 Welcome Reception
6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Potomac A, B
The university will host a welcome reception in the Potomac Ballroom. You and one adult guest are invited to attend the
reception where light hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served. The reception will be a time to meet and network
with fellow graduates, university ambassadors, alumni, faculty, and staff.

Graduate Check-In
8:45 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.

Graduates that have not checked in early must check-in with the Office of Alumni Affairs to collect their name badges,
receive event information and updates, and to register their attendance for the ceremony. You will be given a name
card that will be used to recognize you during the ceremony. Please verify your name pronunciation, degree, and
hometown before you leave the check-in area. If you selected an adult representative to collect your tickets, please
ensure they check-in upon arrival.
Graduates and ticket representatives must have a photo ID at check-in.

9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
Outside Chesapeake Conference
rooms
The American Military University Golden Eagle and the American Public University Volunteer will be available for photos
and a meet and greet with graduates and guests. Be sure to stop by, say hello and take a photo with them before you
make your way to your assigned line-up location!
Graduate Line-up and Briefing
8:45 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.
Area Assigned at Graduate Check-In
Graduates will be assigned a line-up location at graduate check-in. Graduates should arrive to their assigned line-up area
no later than 9:45 a.m. Marshals will brief graduates on the procession, ceremony, graduate portraits, recession, and
the class photo.
Guest Seating
9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Potomac Ballroom
Doors will open at 9:00 a.m.
The Potomac Ballroom will open for guest seating at 9:00 a.m. Tickets are required of all guests and children over the
age of two. Ballroom doors will close briefly at 10:00 a.m. for the procession of graduates. All guest arriving after this
time will be seated after the processional and invocation.
Ceremony Procession
10:00 a.m.
Potomac Ballroom
Marshals will lead graduates to the Potomac Ballroom at 10:00 a.m. During the ceremony, we will the honor special
accomplishments of select graduates and faculty and individually recognize each graduate.
