Choosing a specific degree program now does not mean you are stuck with it if you change your mind later on. Many students end up changing their program for several reasons; however, if you decide to make a change, try not to wait until you are near degree completion as the change may delay your intended graduation date. The best time to consider a program change is right before taking courses within your major.

Many employers look for college graduates who can demonstrate problem-solving skills, can communicate effectively, and are able to think critically which any college degree can prepare you with. Unless you are going for a career that requires formal training like nursing, accounting, engineering, etc. – your choice of degree may be helpful, but not critical to landing specific jobs. Your college major is merely one of the many factors that can shape your career path. Your career is likely to be completely unrelated to your college major.
