Section 3.2: Part-time versus Full-time status

Determining the number of courses to take can be daunting at an online university as requirements can be different than a traditional university. Since you don’t have required ‘check-in’ times, online courses require self-motivation and planning. In this section, we’ll cover the difference between part-time versus full-time status as well as discuss factors you may want to consider when scheduling your courses.

While determining your full- or part-time status, keep in mind that ultimately, the way you fund your tuition will determine how many semester hours you will, or can, register for. Each funding type may have its own full- and part- time guidelines.
